Breaking the rules, really?

Recently sacked from Tottenham, soccer coach José Mourinho faces an uncertain future. But The Special One has always been committed to its teams…

In 2005, following a 2-match suspension for comments about another coach, José Mourinho was suspended and not allowed on the bench or in the dressing room. He coached Chelsea and was due to face Bayern in the Champions League quarter-finals…. So he hid in the changing rooms, until he got into the dirty laundry basket… and was taken to the laundry room, locked in the metal-framed basket!

He had done so, not to break the rules, but to show his team that he would be there at half-time if they needed advice, to show them that he was with them, in every sense of the word.

“They need me, this skin-to-skin contact, they feel you, listen to you, share your emotions.”

How have you demonstrated your commitment to your team? What rules were you prepared to break? How far are you prepared to go to help it succeed?
